As of November 30, 2018, Air New Zealand will launch their new non-stop flight from Chicago (ORD) to Auckland. This flight is scheduled three times per week: Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
This is a huge gain for the Midwest!
The new non-stop flight to Auckland will save travelers money by not having to fly to Los Angeles or San Francisco and then on to Auckland.
Even though I work in Evansville, I would not have any worries in telling my Midwest clients that they have the opportunity to drive to Chicago, or take a quick flight to Chicago, and then they catch the evening non-stop flight to Auckland.
Do you need inspiration on why you should visit New Zealand? Two years ago I went to New Zealand for 2 weeks with a friend. I spent time in both the North Island and in the South Island. In the North Island I visited the Lord of the Rings Hobbiton set, took a tour of the Kauri Forest, and spent a few days in Auckland touring the city. In the South Island I spent most of my time around Queenstown and driving down to Te Anau to visit the Doubtful Sound.
